Dems Likely to Fully Participate in Benghazi Hearings: Report
After weeks of toying with the notion of boycotting the Republican-led select committee investigating the Benghazi attack or participating fully or partially, congressional Democrats are leaning towards fully participating in that investigation.
CNN’s Dana Bash reported on Wednesday that Democrats will appoint five members to fill the seats allotted to them by Republicans.
She said that, while House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has not made a “final decision,” she said it “looks like they are going to go along and participate in this committee.”
ABC News correspondent Jeff Zeleny reported that “allies” close to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wanted Democrats to participate in the Benghazi committee in order to ensure a “fairer hearing.”
House Democrats are leaning toward participating in Benghazi hearing, aides say. Clinton allies hope it brings fairer hearing and questions.
