Deval Patrick: Hillary’s ‘Inevitability’ is Very ‘Off-Putting’ to Voters

Does the thought of Hillary Clinton being inevitable for the presidency fill you with non-chalance? Governor Deval Patrick understands that feeling and argued that may be a turn-off for Clinton in the 2016 race.

(And in case you’re wondering, no, Patrick said he has no personal interest in 2016. For now.)

Chuck Todd asked Patrick about Clinton. Patrick said that the “inevitability” narrative is “off-putting” to voters. And he made it clear he’s not criticizing Clinton specifically, he just thinks it’s a bad look for any candidate:

“People read inevitably as entitlement. And the American people want, and ought to want, their candidates to sweat for the job, you know, to actually make the case for why they’re the right person for the right time.”
