This is one time I would have to agree with Glenn. Over the years I have studiously watched many commentators and was impressed with knowledge as much as delivery. But the message I consistently received from Fareed is that he was not real happy with just about anything the US was involved with domestic or afar.

Not being a malcontent as being a designated captain of sorts to opposition off the field of play. Fareed is a smart man but sometimes I had a hard time understanding that he might actually be playing a role more than believing some of the things he was saying.

This is not a white-brown-black issue, has to do with allegiance and loyalties more than anything. His allegiance is to his job. I don’t know what side of the fence Fareed stands, for the US or against us, or just filling a chair?

He claimed that Western radicals were in conspiracy with reactionary Muslims, and the price of oil has nothing to do with this. I don’t know. I went to an all White, 95% Catholic boarding school, and I can assure you Kumquat would have been chased, knocked down and beaten up every day there. Please. Fareed Zakaria is one of the few adults on TV these days.

His program is quite balanced….but I’m sure he gets attacked by both sides because it’s not a partisan food fight.

The other reason some of the hard partisans don’t like him is because global issues can’t always be construed into a US-Style Left Vs Right paradigm.

If you want to see informed adults from varying perspectives having a mature discussion about real issues, then you should watch his show.

I watch his show regularly, and I’ve rarely seen any episode where both liberal and conservative viewpoints were not shown.

If you want people just rehashing talking points from the right or the left, this ain’t the show for you. Try Meet the Press instead.
