Here’s Michele Bachmann’s First Iowa Campaign Ad, ‘Waterloo’
Rep. Michele Bachmann wants Iowa voters to know she was “born and raised” in Waterloo, she’s a Mom and a job creator. And she’ll never, ever vote to raise the debt ceiling. Ever. In a 30-second campaign spot, “Waterloo,” that begins airing on Iowa television today, the Republican presidential candidate appears upbeat and shares a bunch of family photos. As Politico’s Maggie Haberman reports, the spot was produced by Strategy Group Media and the air campaign begins “just as Bachmann is introducing herself to Iowa voters, who already put her in a statistical tie for first place in a recent Des Moines Register poll:
“I know we can’t keep spending money that we don’t have,” Bachmann says, pivoting to politics and touting her congressional record of fighting “the wasteful bailout [and] against the stimulus,” and pledging: “I will not vote to increase the debt ceiling.”
