Jon Stewart Cannot Contain His Glee About Donald Trump Moderating A Debate

video

Yesterday was a rough day for Jon Stewart. He had to accept that, with a pokémon-colored flourish, Herman Cain was gone forever for the next few weeks until the news cycle wants him back. But today he, he had even more to be happy about: the return of Donald Trump as a political actor, both as a moderator and a potential presidential candidate. It was too much for a political comedian, he explained.

Showing once again “his writers’” reaction to Cain departing (a bunch of movie clips of people be extravagantly upset), he then looked over to find Trump in the news once again. “Sometimes,” he told the audience, “when God closes a door, he opens a window– and, sometimes, outside that door is a circus peanut wearing a badger.” The idea of Trump returning to the scene was particularly good because “regular Republicans, the ones we used to hate, are downright scared.”

For most of the rest of the segment, Stewart didn’t even make many jokes– he just played clips of Trump getting angry at various people (Karl Rove, Chuck Todd) and exclaiming, “I love this guy!” Needless to say, the compilation of movie clips airing over Donald Trump was significantly less gloomy than the Cain goodbye reel.

“we shall overcomb” – Donald Trump

  • Anonymous

Jon Stewart hasn’t had this much fun talking about a dick since the Anthony Weiner scandal.

  • Tucsonense

The republicans………………………………the gift that keeps on giving!!!!

“regular Republicans, the ones we used to hate, are downright scared.”
Can we finally put to bed the issue of Jon Stewart somehow being a moderate or centrist? I know the 1000 episodes of pure conservative bashing didn’t get you guys to admit it, but surely this is enough..right?…right?!

    *crickets*

If Donald Trump was my father, I’d be so fucken embarrassed.

He’s got a date with being told-off publicly for being a colossal thin-skinned baby. I hope Jon Stewart gets to carry that out.

  • Anonymous

    So?

  • Anonymous

… I love you, Mr. Huntsman.

  • AMP2020

LOL. Only someone with their head buried within the sand of their own country’s borders could look at Jon Stewart and think he’s left wing. Expand your scope of the free world.

  • Anonymous

Uh, was anybody really denying the fact that he was left of center?  I thought it was more a case of people having to constantly explain that he’s a comedian rather than an activist.  Both of which are his stated positions, actually, if you’ve seen some of his interviews.

(Although I feel like I have to point out that “the ones we used to hate” was referring to people like Karl Rove, and a huge number of people across the political spectrum hate or used to hate the man.  He’s a creep.)

Donald Trump is as sly as a fox. If this “debate” ever takes place, everyone will be watching to see what of train wreck takes place. He’s the ultimate self-shiller who knows how to garner ratings, and he will.

This is the worst move the GOP can do.  We, the GOP used to stand for something, but we’re now turning into a circus act.  This needs to stop.

  • Anonymous

He often says his opinion is biased and he often says he is a liberal. He does make fun of his own party though.

  • Anonymous

If the American political conversation is a human being, Jon Stewart is a chronic case of diabetes.

  • Anonymous

Why? because Jon Stewart says so? Becuase someone on twitter said “OHDASTOOPID”?

Yeah you’re totally right dude, having a debate with Donald Trump would like, totally wipe out the GOP forever! Instantly!

I wish someone would superglue Jon Stewart’s fist to his face like  in the above photo. That stupid look is  pretty much his reaction to everything… I’m so sick of this incredibly inane, 70-year-old-Something-Awful-forum-member-who-somehow-got-a-hold-of-a-studio-and-a-bunch-of-cameras, who’s about as funny as the priest being arrested on child abuse charges in the middle of your wedding to your  high school sweetheart who  you hadnt seen in 10 years

And  I’m even sicker of the millions of of even-dumber-dumbasses who are convinced he’s some kind of  genius. I hope their South Park dolls come to life while they’re sleeping and spraypaint cartoon genitalia on their faces. Then again, it’s not like they’ve actually got any reason to scrub it off, they have no capacity for embarrassment because that requires self-respect in the first place.

“Seek help” for being angry at someone who fostered/raised an entire generation of young people who wear t-shirts that feature the likeness of a mass murdering Latin American tyrant, and when questioned and/or informed about his genocidal level of violence, shrug it off as though it were a speeding ticket?

Naw, I think you’ll find the psychotic person, if you choose between me and Stewart, is actually Stewart himself. Thanks anyway for your insight, genius of the world. I’ll be sure to seeketh thine sage advice next time I have a quantum physics query I need to solve.

  • Gloves B. Donahue

Stewart is the perfect example of a one trick pony.

35 writers come up with some nonsense, almost always “mocking”, “trashing”, “taking it to” , etc., anyone who does not agree with the liberal view. Stew says the line, makes a face. Ho-hum. Like watching a stupid sitcom that is long past it’s expiration date.

Huntsman’s answer implies he would indeed consider kissing at least certain parts of the anatomies of others.

But … why does Huntsman equate a ring on a person’s finger to a part of a person’s anatomy?

Man, what I don’t know about that weird-ass cult Huntsman and Romney below to is a lot.

  • Hout Bosques

    Of cuss, “below” = “belong”.

Looks like The Donald is really, really having a bad hair day because no one is showing up for his debate.

  • expatpatriot

Stewart makes his money skewering political figures. Is it his fault that the Republicans are so imminently skewerable?

I mean, Herman Cain? Donald Trump? C’mon now.

In any case, Stewart consistently holds to a traditional liberal line in social issues and a traditional centrist line in all other issues. The fact that the right wing has shifted so far out of the mainstream of what most Americans believe is really the right wing’s problem.

A problem they’re going have their noses rubbed in come November next year.

  • expatpatriot

Rove is certainly a creep of the first order. But he’s also a voice of sanity in the Republican party these days. Which shows you how far the ‘Licans have veered off into the swamps of extremism.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

I haven’t laughed so hard since my last prostate exam.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

On ION? I doubt everyone will be watching. Less than 1/3rd of American viewers have ION, and it is not available in a number of America’s major markets.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

You’re right. College is ruining America. We need more dumb people.

  • http://twitter.com/Samuel_Bun Samuel_Bun

You are right. The GOP is on the right track and Trump the Tea party only make the GOP stronger. All republicans should send as much money to the Koch brothers so they can get the movement moving in a solid direction. God bless America, and throw Tiny Tim under the bus.

ION? I’ve never even heard of ION. And although I only get back to the States two or three times a year, you’d think I’d have run across it.

  • expatpatriot

I dunno. Looking around here, it seems we have plenty.

  • expatpatriot

Nope. It’s the death of a thousand small blows (and some not so small). Think of it as exsanguination by paper cut.

  • expatpatriot

Got health insurance? You’ll need it when you pop a gasket. And let’s hope that your municipality hasn’t cut ambulance services too deeply. Because when you change your mind about your suicide, you’ll probably want them to come right away.

  • expatpatriot

Right. Stewart is such a failure at his craft, it’s a wonder that millions and millions and millions of people watch him. I just don’t get it.

  • Anonymous

No if Trump was your father you’d be rich and not waste your time on a meaningless comment section. Just sayin

…Donald Trump and his relentless, massive and his unquenchable ego.

The GOP no doubt, can’t wait for him to gracefully reenter Republican Presidential the race…

I thought I was the ultimate self-shiller who knows how to garner ratings? What more do I have to do? Well, I guess there’s always more blatant racism to vomit all over my audience again.

A loudmouth know-nothing buffoon like Trump is the perfect symbol of today’s GOP/Bagger.

Like the big “gift” they gave the Dems during the 2010 elections?

  • https://me.yahoo.com/a/7nZpGKwT1fVdlb3YN6DXlA8PViJDMLL2bO_q#5aa2e ganymede

Years from now people will play these Stewart, Colbert, and even Maher clips to find out what was really going on. Somewhat similar to how we look at the brilliant Monty Python pieces from the 1960′s. From the comments here, rightwingers lack of a sense of humor is quite unbelievable. Also, I think Trump is headed for a breakdown, but he is very, very, funny.

Let’s talk about something more important instead, like the e-mails just released today by the DOJ today confirming that the obama DOJ was intentionally and illegally selling guns to the Mexican drug gangs with the intention of using the crimes committed with those “American weapons” to attack the second amendment. Subversion of the constitution anyone? Are there trials, convictions, perhaps executions for being accessories to murder and treason in order here? What would your opinion be if it had been a Republican admin that had done this and caused the death of U.S. agents and HUNDREDS of Mexican nationals?
