Macklemore Marries 33 Gay and Straight Couples During Grammy Performance of ‘Same Love’

On Sunday evening, the Grammys celebrated marriage equality with a performance of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love,” featuring 33 gay and straight couples getting married live on-stage.

The song has become something of an anthem for the gay rights movement, with rapper Macklemore exploring hip-hop culture’s own biases against homosexuality, as well as the greater theme of intolerance in America.
