Must-See Late Night Clip: Colbert Takes on GOP Debate, Eisenhower Deportation

Late Show host Stephen Colbert’s desk bit on Wednesday night was dedicated to covering this week’s GOP debate on Fox Business, and he opened with,“Like the candidates last night, I have a random collection of half-informed thoughts I want to share with you.”

The segment highlighted some of the missteps from Republican candidates from the Fox Business debate on Tuesday night, including Senator Ted Cruz’ Perry-esque counting and Donald Trump’s take on repeating the deportation policies of President Dwight Eisenhower. “Trump is right,” continued Colbert, “Eisenhower deported over one million illegal immigrants back in the 1950s, and it must have worked, because Mexicans were never seen here again.”
