Rep. Dennis Kucinich: Is Obama’s Participation In Libyan Missile Attacks ‘Impeachable?’

Video

Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich is not keeping mum about his feelings on the U.S.’s use of military force in Libya, going so far as to wonder whether President Barack Obama‘s participation in air strikes over the tumultuous country constitute an “impeachable offense” because he did not first confer with Congress.

In a letter addressed to Speaker John Boehner (linked to on Kucinich’s site), Kucinich stated that the decision to use military force should not be made without Congressional debate or involvement. To drive his point home, the Congressman quoted Obama himself: “The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

Kucinich took to MSNBC to further discuss his dissatisfaction with Obama’s decision:

Kucinich and Ralph Nader just don’t like having a black man in the White House.

That fact , of course , is unimpeachable .

  • BFD

Was Obama getting a blow job when he ordered the strike?

If not then it is not impeachable.

  • Lover

Lying under oath is impeachable. That’s way over your head, though.

I disagree with the President’s decision to involve our military in Libya, but to suggest that this is an impeachable offense is ludicrous. But I’m not surprised to see this splintering and finger-pointing on the left. The Democrats have all learned from Saul Alinsky that attacking and grandstanding must be the basis for every political career. So it was inevitable that Democrat whack jobs would start attacking other Democrat whack jobs. That’s what happens when a party gets enamored with smears, attacks, ridicule, and buffoonery. Maybe the party leaders will learn something from this whole disgraceful situation.

I will repeat here the same thing I said when Bush was President. Any President of the United States needs to make tough decisions about ethical issues with human lives at stake. Ideologues could make a case that every President is guilty of “war crimes” if you scrutinize and second-guess every decision. Truman, Kennedy, Nixon, Clinton, Bush all caused bloodshed and loss of life in complex situations. So sure, send every President straight from the White House to prison at the end of every term, and see how the improves our country and democratic process. Far better to cut Obama some slack — with room for disagreement, but not for impeachment(!) proceedings. Kucinich and other far left loons need a course in the realities of leadership in the modern day world.

I think you’re missing it here, felixw. Grandstanding is definitely what’s going on, but not the “family feud” the pretenders act out.

There’s an election coming up and Hussein has lost the independent voters with CommieCare and the way the evil trio of Hussein, Reid, and Pelosi and the rest of the Demons went about forcing it on America. Demons hope to camouflage Hussein’s Marxist extremism by dispatching other extremist “whack-jobs” to make Hussein appear more centerist.

Don’t fall for the playacting by Liberal Democrats. Remember……………. never trust a rattlesnake or a Demoncrit.

Your mistake is that you think he care what you have to say. Actually, that you think anyone cares what you have to say is delusional.

War Powers Act gives him 90 days before a joint resolution is needed… If I am not mistaken.

Why should we impeach Obama, after letting the previous administration commit crime after crime? Sorry, righties; you set the bar.

We watch the right eat their own every day. It’s called the Tea Party, and it will be the end of the Republican Party.

Sick, just sick. It works both ways, see, as the right scrambles to figure out why THIS war isn’t good, while all the OTHER (Bush) wars are just fine. “It took him too long to respond!” they shriek! “The UN is leading this, not the US!” they cry. Shut up.

Begs the question: “Does Kucinich have a penis?”

  • joe7

I disagree that impeachment is a right course of actions(not that he’s calling for it). Still agree though that Congress is there for a reason and that the president should use it. At least Kucinich is consistent unlike many politicians these days

Rep. Dennis Kucinich: Is Obama’s Participation In Libyan Missile Attacks ‘Impeachable?’

Probably not Dennis, since nothing else the America-hating b_____d has done has made the grade of being “impeachable.”

We dont need people like Kucinich and Moore to point out how bad BO has put his foot in it this time, but it is funny to watch. What else can you expect from the most horrific leadership this country has ever seen? May as well throw in a hypocritical, unnecessary, moronic, not talked about, maybe illegal act of war to top it all off.

I think my favorite aspect as of now is BO’s own comments mentioned here by Kucinich. Any lib here want to defend this? I’m just curious. I’m thinking if all the well known libs on here denounce BO for this just like Moore has, maybe we can have a big Mediaite ‘all get a long’ moment.

WOW! OMG! So now these two libs are racist because they see this move by BO as foolish? Holy crap this is unreal! AND LOOK AT ALL THE THUMBS UP??? All the retards must be up this morning. Maybe I still need a coffee, let me go back and read this again.

Truly a stupid post. One can get laid lots and still find this great to watch. Nice try though.

(Oh how this never gets old :) )

So dummy, Bush lied about what?

    Previous administration commited what crimes?

So the Tea Party is considered eating it’s own? LOL!! No dingbat, the repubs have a thing called RINO’s and the Tea Party was needed to save us from you commie dogs, whatever party you sneak into.

Look Tool. I dont care that it took too long or that France is leading the way. (Actually I do) It’s that we’re helping the Lybian rebels for the blunt reason that they’re rising up against a dictator. Are you, and my president, smoking dust?

That same reason can be applied to 1/2 of the Middle East, how does anyone justify Lybia and not the others? Lybia is a threat to the US how? What should be the biggest and only concern of our’s, Iran, has been totally forgotten about. He did it his way and let others lead, but still managed to have a form of ‘unilaterally’ by passing up his own government. How about we dont even know who is leading the opposition in Lybia. And quietly the biggest problem with all this is that WE CANNOT AFFORD THIS!!!

    You are a damn fool!

  • ChrisNH

Ahhh…THIS is what Obamo must have meant by ‘returning the United States to respectability.’ Got it.

Why do you care what the “other side” is doing; is this the “hope and change” Obama campaigned on?

Instead of bad mouthing President Obama, Congressman Kucinich should suggest the following to President Obama.—-Following is the scenario I personally would like Obama to explore in order to bring this new war to a quick ending for the benefit of all involved, to make America look like a true peace maker and a fair player along with being looked at as a excellent ally. To start with I would phone a few of our potential future allies and a few of our present allies and see who may consider accepting Gaddafi as a leader in exile. If I had any success with this idea, I would proceed to calling Gaddafi himself and in the most diplomatic voice possible, I would explain the dangers that are facing him and his opponents in as few as words as possible and at the same time ask him his opinion as to where he thinks this new uprising will end along with letting him know I have taken it upon myself to contact a few other nations on his behalf to see if any of them would accept him in life with peace where he can live out his Senior years without harassment or fear of retribution. I would tell him to think this over for three days then I will call him back. After our next phone call, if he declines the offer this time, no more offers will follow and he is on his own. This offer is too good for Gaddafi but it is the very best offer for the rest of the world without going into detail of the benefits awaiting the rest of the world if Gaddafi leaves Libya as soon as possible. Is this fair? NO. Is it right for the rest of the world? YES
