During a CNN interview this afternoon, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) fired a shot across the bow in his war of words with President Donald Trump, suggesting that the president was a petulant child who needed to be punished.
As you may recall, Trump took to Twitter to go off on the ranking Democrat of the House Intelligence Committee, giving the California lawmaker a nickname (Little Adam Schiff) while calling him a liar and claiming Schiff would “illegally leak confidential information” from closed committee meetings. Schiff fired back with his own tweet, stating that the president apparently “had a busy morning of Executive Time.”
Asked by CNN’s Jim Sciutto what he thought the president meant when he said Schiff “must be stopped,” the Democratic congressman responded that he didn’t know because “it is often hard to understand the president’s tweets.” He added that he’s careful not disclose anything from a private session before offering up a suggestion for the White House chief of staff.
“First he called me sleazy — now it is Little Adam Schiff,” the representative declared. “It is confusing. It may be time for General Kelly to give the president a timeout. The country would benefit from that.”
Will the president just let this go? We shall see.
