Sen. Mitch McConnell On President Obama: “Where’s The Leadership?”

Video

Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell appeared on Face the Nation and told host Bob Schieffer that now, when there is divided government and not one branch running everything, is the perfect time to tackle entitlement reform. Unfortunately, in McConnell’s opinion, President Obama is not at all serious about wanting to do anything about it.

McConnell pleaded, “Where’s the President? Where’s the leadership? We’re prepared to do difficult things, but he must be a part of it.” He then went on to claim that the Obama administration is in denial about the financial status of social security. Although, McConnell may have saved his harshest remarks for the guest that appeared right before him on the show, suggesting “when my friend John Kerry says cutting government spending is ‘reckless,’ I’m wondering what planet is he living on?”

Where in hell was McConnell in the two years since the Sept. ’08 collapse of the BUSH market? Oh, yeah, he was chief spokesman for the Party of No. He stood in the way of every attempt to ease the situation. NOW he want’s to complain that nothing got done? After160+ filibusters? Chicken Lips should get real, get honest, and STFU.

mcconnell is WRONG – “You Lie!” hussein cares about the deficit greatly and he wants to MASSIVELY INCREASE IT EVEN MORE because that his is WEAPON TO DESTROY WHAT HE HATES: AMERICA.

The ENEMIES of AMERICA, the lunatic-left d-crat socialists and the chinese communists, are working together to destroy our country. Anybody who isn’t aware of that has got to be even more mentally defective than a lunatic-lefty. Khrushchev had it wrong when he issued is hollow claim that “We will bury you !” The Chinese communists have an approach that will work: “We will OWN you !” With the unlimited help from the out-of-control spending, massive deficits and debt and actions favoring china over America of the d-crat socialists, they very likely will succeed.

Nov 2012 – we must get “You Lie!” out before he completely destroys our country.

Why Oh why oh why do they have these endless Hackerama Warriors on these boring Sunday shows to say the predictable political drivel. And there’s Mediaite reporting it like it’s something new.

  • TrollJuice

@TeaPartyPatriot you sound like the Westboro Baptist Church lady.

  • Elrod

I hope the Secret Service has TeaPartyPatriot’s IP address. He has lost his mind and thinks the President has the problem.

Why are lunatics aloud to rant on this site? Is this place monitored by any adults?

More regurgitation from Schneider when it comes to a conservative bashing a democrat… It’d be faster if you just put a link to the CBS site and save the “analysis”… Thanks again Matty!!!

The Real Royal King to Chinless Mitch: Where are the jobs?

You and all you Republicans promised job creation, and you’ve done nothing but spend US $1.1 Million Dollars reading an abridged version of the Constitution and passing a bunch of social conservative BS which will never be signed into law. Our President may have turned the corner on job creation. If you’re not going to do anything to create even a single job, don’t be putting even more people out of work with your half-cocked austerity theories. Sent the UK into a Douple Dipper. Will do the same here. Keep your promise!

Yeah! How come they haven’t created more jobs?! They’ve in control of one house of congress for almost TWO WHOLE MONTHS!

Clearly, they’re the problem… not the White House or Senate which hasn’t done anything for over two years.

    Ugh.

We can already see in Wisconsin how Democrats respond when tough decisions need to be made about spending. They head into hiding, and send out agitators to protest in the street. Anyone who thinks Obama and the Democrats will take courage steps in addressing the federal budget and deficit obviously knows nothing about this party. They are the problem, not the solution.

Where is the Mediaite story about how the democrats are about to cave in Wisconsin. They are even going to claim victory when the republicans pass the bill. Typical libs.

    Wisconsin Democrats May Return Soon
By KRIS MAHER and AMY MERRICK

Playing a game of political chicken, Democratic senators who fled Wisconsin to stymie restrictions on public-employee unions said Sunday they planned to come back from exile soon, betting that even though their return will allow the bill to pass, the curbs are so unpopular they’ll taint the state’s Republican governor and legislators.
The Wisconsin standoff, which drew thousands of demonstrators to occupy the capitol in Madison for days at a time, has come to highlight efforts in other states to address budget problems in part by limiting the powers and benefits accorded public-sector unions.
Sen. Mark Miller said he and his fellow Democrats intend to let the full Senate vote on Gov. Scott Walker’s “budget-repair” bill, which includes the proposed limits on public unions’ collective bargaining rights. The bill, which had been blocked because the missing Democrats were needed for the Senate to have enough members present to consider the bill, is expected to pass the Republican-controlled chamber.

    Here’s your leadership:

“There are times when we’re were among family, we’re among Democrats where we want to talk about being Democrats,” Mr. Obama began his speech at the first of the two fund-raisers, at the Fontainebleau hotel. “But today I want to talk to you a little about being an American, I want to talk about those things that bring us together as opposed to the things that drive us apart.”

He went on to say that he had just visited a high school with Mr. [Jeb] Bush. The crowd booed and hissed.

They just can’t help themselves and He can’t lead them for 10 seconds. Community Organizing fail.

    @ Pablo

Come on, you know better than that.

Numbers go down… and it’s thanks to Obama. Numbers go up or stay the same, blame the Republicans.

You guys can’t make up your minds. You want to blame Obama for the Republican Recession but can’t since job losses leveled off as a result of his stimulus. We’d actually be doing better if he hadn’t given unneeded tax giveaways to your fat-cat pals in order to get Republican votes for the bill – which he didn’t get, anyway. You want to give the “G-Owned-P” credit for the improving job situation even though they never even MENTIONED jobs once they got elected.

    From: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2011/mar/01/us-taxation-public-finance

“[T]he richest Americans have done by far the best over the last 30 years, they are more able to pay taxes today than they have been in many decades, and they are more able to pay than other Americans by a far wider margin. At a time of national economic crisis, especially, they can and should contribute far more in taxes.

“Instead, a rather vicious cycle has been at work for years. Reduced taxes on the rich leave them with more money to influence politicians and politics. Their influence wins them further tax reductions, which gives them still more money to put to political use. When the loss of tax revenue from the rich worsens already strained government budgets, the rich press politicians to cut public services and government jobs and not even debate a return to the higher taxes the rich used to pay. So it goes – from Washington, to Wisconsin, to New York City. . . . ”

Too many of America’s wealthy citizens and corporations (one-quarter of which pay no taxes) are “stiffing” the rest of us for their fair share of the tab. They spend a fraction of their wealth convincing the short-sighted and/or ill-informed among us to vote against their own best interests. The ludicrous and devastating Citizen’s United case, decided by a corrupted Supreme Court, allows the wealthy to essentially buy elections . . . and legislators.

With only a few exceptions, the rich are no friends of mine . . . or yours . . . or our country.

Once again, gordim plagiarizes by failing to cite his source; the Wall Street Journal – once an ethically conservative newspaper, now reduced to a worthless fish-wrap by Rupert Moredreck.

I wouldn’t be anxious to admit to relying on it, either.

Marceaux, I mean Blower, you do realize that the point of the strategic redeployment was to expose the Governor’s motives. That has happened, and he is probably the least popular Wisconsin politician since Tail Gunner Joe. And, the icing on the cake, or the scum on top of the pond, will be the actual slap Walker gives to hard-working American men and women trying to support their families and themselves. The slap heard round the world that will be. Oh, yeah……….’08 is when the Hussein regime completed the coup that started in ’06 and took over complete control of the American government. But remind me……….when was it the financial collapse took place?

DIMS just can’t make up your minds over how to deflect blame for our economy away from guilty Democrits over to Republicans. You want to blame Bush tax cuts that turned the Clinton recession and 9/11 attacks into the strongest economy America has seen to date. At other times, you want to divert attention from your complicity in guilt for the unimaginable debt and spending frenzy known to this nation, to the Bush 4.3 billion dollar deficit instead of Hussein’s 1.5 TRILLION dollar deficit last year alone.

Admit it, Joseph, DIMS are so…………….well…………..DIM that you don’t care how bad you damage America as long as your “team” gets to beat those icky ol’ Republicans, and you can punch your fist into the air and yell. “Hoo-ah, Hoo-ah!” Priorites, right?

    Your dates don’t match.
    Your numbers don’t add up.
The Cheney puppet show was in the White House until Jan. “09.
The market collapsed in Sept. ’08′
The “Clinton recession” created 20M jobs. Clinton left a surplus.
The puppet show passed those tax cuts without cutting spending. That was with a Solid Red Congress.
The puppet show created 1M jobs in eight years.
Obama has already created more than 2M jobs.
Your deficit numbers must have been pulled out of that orifice where you keep your head.

Pablo, go take a look at Hoover Dam. Or the Grand Coulee. Or the Post Office or Federal Building in over 1/2 the towns in the US that were built by the WPA. Take a vacation in a national park developed by the CCC, Then, STFU, because you don’t know what you’re talking about.

The “leadership” comes from Andy Stern and Richard Trumka. If the unions don’t want it, 0bama doesn’t do it.

    Joseph Glackin:

Maybe you’d better take a closer look at the WPA. It wasn’t called “We Piddle Around” program for nothing. In fact the term “boon-doggle” is directly attributable to the WPA. It was one of the many reasons the Great Depression lasted far longer than it should have.
