Seth Meyers Blasts GOPers For ‘Rushing to Defend’ Kavanaugh, Says Allegation is ‘Indeed Credible’

On Monday night, Seth Meyers criticized Republicans for their handling of the sexual misconduct allegation made against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Meyers accused GOPers of “rushing to defend” Kavanaugh, mocking the letter penned by 65 women who knew him in hight school in support of the nominee to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“You know what’s a little incriminating? If you’re accused of sexual assault and you just happen to have on-hand a list of other women you didn’t sexually assault,” Meyers reacted. “If the cops come to your house and say they want to ask you about a murder and you come to the door with a list of people you didn’t murder, you’ll still be a suspect in that murder.”

The Late Night host blasted “Republicans and right-wing pundits” for going on the offensive “despite the seriousness of these allegations,” citing Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro, who blasted Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and other Democrats, calling them “demon rats” for their handling of the letter written by Kavanaugh’s accuser Christine Ford.

“Jeanine, you don’t have to clarify that you said ‘demon rats,'” Meyers told the Fox News host. “You look and sound like a person who uses ‘demon rats’ all the time. If your delivery guy shows up five minutes late, I’m pretty sure you’d call him a ‘demon rat.'”

Meyers determined that since Ford provided therapist notes from 2012 that corroborate her story, her allegation is “indeed credible,” and blasted the right for trying to “discredit or ignore the allegations altogether,” pointing to remarks made by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) who suggested that Ford is “mixed up.”

“She was mixed up? You literally once tried to take a pair of invisible glasses off your face during a hearing,” Meyers quipped.

He concluded that since Ford and Kavanaugh will be testifying next week, Republicans should “honor her courage and stop dismissing her.”
