Telemundo’s José Díaz-Balart to Join MSNBC, Anchor 10 A.M. Hour

Telemundo news anchor José Díaz-Balart will be joining MSNBC’s weekday lineup in June. Díaz-Balart will anchor from Miami and will anchor the weekly 10 A.M. currently occupied by Chris Jansing, who will be leaving her morning program to fill the position of NBC News Senior White House Correspondent.

In a statement, Díaz-Balart said, “It’s a great privilege for me to be able to be a part of the MSNBC team while continuing my work with my colleagues at Telemundo. I look forward to providing news and information in a dynamic and objective manner, while always recognizing America’s unique diversity.”

Díaz-Balart will continue his anchor duties at Telemundo, alongside the new MSNBC timeslot.

Correction: A previous version of this post said Díaz-Balart would be leaving Telemundo to join MSNBC. Balart will continue to work at Telemundo.
