Video: Richard Sherman Says ‘Helluva Game,’ Crabtree Shoves Him in Face Seconds Before Interview

 

The postgame interview that kicked off a racist freakout and a week of controversy for Seattle Seahawks corrnerback Richard Sherman gained new context Thursday, as the National Football League released video of Sherman and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree just seconds before that interview, complete with in-helmet mic audio.

The video clearly shows Sherman, right after his game-winning assist, run up to Crabtree and shout “Helluva game, helluva game,” only to be met by a shove to the face from Crabtree. The encounter is at about the 30 second mark, followed by Sherman calling after him “You better go your ass home!” and Sherman’s now-infamous interview with Erin Andrews. Sherman then proceeds to hug and greet several members of the 49ers following the Andrews interview.

Given this new video, Sherman’s reaction may seem even restrained, relatively speaking. Here’s the clip, from NFL Films:
