Biden Says Mandating Vaccines for Federal Employees Is ‘Under Consideration’: ‘If You’re Not Vaccinated, You’re Not Nearly as Smart as I Thought You Were’
President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that mandating vaccines for all federal employees is under consideration.
The CDC announced new mask guidance, recommending that vaccinated people mask up in areas with a substantial covid-19 transmission. The spread of the Delta variant has led to a rise in cases across the country.
Following that announcement, a reporter asked the president, “Will you require all federal employees to get vaccinated?”
“That’s under consideration right now, but if you’re not vaccinated, you’re not nearly as smart as I thought you were,” he responded.
The president made these comments at the ODNI, where he'd just praised members of the intelligence community for being smart and said, "But if you're not vaccinated, you're not nearly as smart as I thought you were." https://t.co/UPZgIvV5fZ

“The more we learn about this virus and the Delta variation, the more we have to be worried and concerned,” Biden continued. “And only one thing we know for sure, if those other hundred million people got vaccinated, we would be in a very different world.”
