Bill Burr Excoriates ‘That F*cking Guy’ Ben Shapiro: ‘I’m Supposed To Look at Him Like He’s an Adult?’

Comedian Bill Burr shredded conservative pundit Ben Shapiro in an interview published by Vulture on Thursday.

The two have had something of a minor feud. In December, Shapiro took heat from some in his Daily Wire audience when he ripped Burr after the comedian said he “love[s] that fucking CEOs are fucking afraid right now” upon the assassination of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. Shapiro called it “a morally sick sentiment.”

In February, Shapiro accused Burr of going “woke,” prompting Burr to call him a “jerkoff.”

In the Vulture interview, Jesse David Fox returned to Shapiro’s “woke” jab.

“You’ve had a few things happen, including Ben Shapiro talking about going to one of your shows and complaining that you’re becoming ‘woke,’ which—”, Fox said as Burr interjected:

He doesn’t even know what that word means. His definition of woke is white liberals’ definition of woke, and they didn’t even know what it was; they just took the word from Black people. That’s the worst thing about our people — not only do we take from other cultures, we don’t even take the time to understand the definition.

He went there to be annoyed so he can then have something to talk about and then he can make money off dividing his own country. Those people, it’s treasonous what they do.

Later in the interview, Fox asked Burr about hosting Saturday Night Live a week after the 2024 election. The comedian responded by saying it was “an honor” and took one more shot at “that idiot” Shapiro:

It’s an honor to be asked to do that. And I made fun of Kamala, and I made fun of Trump, and then I did a couple of silly jokes. I kept it light. I don’t put that level of importance on my act. What I’m finding is that people keep trying to categorize what you’re doing. Like that idiot Ben Shapiro: “He’s woke now!” That fucking guy. He was trying to bring me into his fold. At one point, the guy liked me and then, all of a sudden, I’m a fucking asshole. I’m supposed to look at that guy like he’s an adult?

Burr went on to say that he is often “deliberately misunderstood.”
