The View Mutes Cursing Robert De Niro as He Goes off on ‘Hateful, Mean-Spirited, Awful’ Trump

Robert De Niro once again raised alarms about a potential second Donald Trump term in the White House and he got so colorful with his language that ABC had to mute the Oscar-winning actor.

De Niro stopped by The View on Tuesday and doubled down on all of his past criticism of Trump, including saying he wanted to punch him in the face. The actor predicted the potential end to the country as we know it and compared Trump to dictators like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

“I don’t understand why people are not taking him seriously because you read about it historically in other countries that they didn’t take the people seriously. I think of Hitler and Mussolini,” De Niro said.

He continued his rant, but at one point was muted for a few seconds after warning the hosts, “excuse my French.”

“If he gets elected, it’s going to change this country for everybody. And they might think that it’s going to make their life better and they just want to — excuse my French,” De Niro said before he briefly was turned into a silent movie actor.

The actor predicted even Trump’s most vocal supporters would turn on him in a second administration if they see him become the authoritarian his critics fear and he’s even teased.

“Those people who support him with anger and hate because that’s what he’s about. They’re going to see. I mean, I used to see these things. I didn’t understand how he and Rosie O’Donnell used to get into it. I didn’t really care. I see what a hateful, mean-spirited, awful thing he is,” De Niro said.

The actor said he only wanted to punch the man in the face because Trump had threatened to do a similar thing to a protester at a rally in 2016.

The actor was actually muted again when he began referring to a “slogan” for Trump.

Whoopi Goldberg predicted if Trump gets elected again, he’s not leaving the White House until he’s dead.

“His idea is to stay in until he drops dead,” she said.

“If he’s elected, it’s over,” De Niro added.
