Twitter is Divided Over New Trailer for Live Action Remake of The Lion King

Disney fans are welling up with emotion over the newly-released trailer for the 2019 live action remake of the beloved animated epic: The Lion King.

Disney released a 93 second preview for the film on Thanksgiving and it’s chock full of iconic images and scenes from the 1994 classic. The film has many top-tier entertainers in its voice cast, not the least of which is James Earl Jones — who reprises the role of Mufasa.

When the trailer came out, it caused an explosion of online chatter as fans proclaimed their eager anticipation for July 2019.

However, the trailer has also prompted some mixed emotions for fans of the original. Some people still aren’t convinced the remake will match the excellence of the first version, others debated whether CGI effects really count as live-action, and some wondered whether the film should even be remade at all.
