WATCH: There’s A Full-Length VICE Documentary about Andy Ricker

From VICE, the creators of tiny chef-oriented series like Munchies and Eddie Huang’s Marvelous,Wondrous World Fresh Off The Boat, comes its first feature-length food documentary, and it’s about Andy Ricker. Specifically, it’s about how Andy Ricker, an obvious white man, managed to create a Thai empire whose meticulously authentic food won the respect of both Americans and Thai diners alike:

We have been making our food show, Munchies, for four years now. As much as we love it, it only gives us a few hours with chefs that we find extremely intriguing. We thought, fuck it? Why don’t we make a full on documentary? That leads us to our first feature, Farang, with none other than chef Andy Ricker. ‘Farang‘, the Thai word for ‘white foreigner’ is Andy’s nickname around Thailand.
