JUST IN: James Comey, Letitia James to Be Indicted in the Coming Days, Per Reports

Former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James are both expected to be indicted in the next few days, according to multiple reports on Wednesday afternoon, just days after President Donald Trump urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to take “action” against Comey, James, and other political enemies.

MSNBC’s Ken Dilanian reported Comey is “expected to be indicted in the coming days” in Virginia, and added the “full extent of the charges” is “unclear.” Soon after, CNN reported the Justice Department was “nearing a decision” on whether to charge Comey with “lying to Congress.”

Dilanian, during an appearance on MSNBC, said his reporting is based on three sources. He told host Katy Tur it is a “fluid situation” that may change, although the investigation is currently focused on whether Comey ever lied about authorizing leaks to the press. He also said the Justice Department is “expected to charge Letitia James with mortgage fraud.”

Wednesday’s reports come after the president called on Bondi to charge Comey and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) for pushing claims that Trump had colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. Trump said the lack of charges against Comey and his other rivals was “killing” his administration’s credibility.

“They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday night.

Trump has ripped Comey and Schiff in the past for pushing bogus claims he colluded with Russia. The president, in 2023, called Schiff a “sleazebag and traitor” who “should be prosecuted for the damage he has done” to the U.S. Trump has criticized Comey a number of times for leading what he has called the Russia “witch hunt” over the years. Ironically, many of Comey’s critics also argue that he helped elect Trump in 2016 by publishing a letter saying the FBI was actively investigating Hillary Clinton’s email use as secretary of state.
