‘A Story of Human Atrocity’: Fox News Hosts Gutted By Footage of Abandoned 2-Year-Old Girl at the Border
Fox News hosts were gutted by a report from the southern border Monday that featured a two-year old El Salvadoran girl who was completely on her own, carrying only a note to show to border guards.
From Eagle Pass, Texas, reporter Bill Melugin revealed a line of hopeful migrants and noted that “60” of them were “unaccompanied migrant children traveling completely alone, no parents, no guardians with them, some as young as two years old.”
He then cut to a child’s blurred-out face as she spoke to a border guard.
GUARD: Did you come by yourself? Yes? How old are you?
CHILD: Two.
GUARD: Two? Two years old? Did you come with your parents? No? By yourself? Where are you going?
CHILD: With my mom and dad.
GUARD: Where are they?
CHILD: United States.
GUARD: United States?
The child carried with her a yellow slip of paper stating where she needed to go to be reunited with family.
Outnumbered’s Kayleigh McEnany said she was appalled that such a young child stood at the border all alone.
“I was thinking about this this morning, and I thought, the story of our southern border is really the story of human atrocity,” McEnany said. “I was appalled…It really hit home to me. Look at her,” she said of the abandoned child. “You know, I have a son that’s turning two on Friday. He can barely walk up the stairs and has to hold the railings just to get up the stairs. This little girl the same age somehow made it to the southern border alone? I mean, who took her there? Not her parents, but probably cartels. What happened to her on her journey? I hope nothing, but God forbid, she is a victim of the southern border.”
President-elect Donald Trump chose former ICE acting director Tom Homan as the new Border Czar. Homan, who’s expected to visit Eagle Pass Tuesday, has vowed to track down and deport all migrants who are in the country illegally.
