Benjamin Hall Receives Standing Ovation at Fox Upfronts Two Years After Nearly Dying Reporting From Ukraine

Fox News war correspondent Benjamin Hall took to the Fox Upfronts stage on Monday to a standing ovation.

Two years after nearly losing his life while reporting on the war in Ukraine — in a blast that killed video journalist Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian producer Oleksandra Kuvshynova — Hall received applause from the crowd as he introduced his fellow Fox war reporter Trey Yingst, who was live from Israel. He also addressed the sacrifices that he and other journalists have made while reporting from battlefields around the world.

Here was Hall’s speech and his conversation with Yingst:

Hall: The truth is, I’m here because of the community around me. I’m here because of everyone at Fox. I’m here because of the amazing people who come together. But look, my story is just one of many that’s coming from the frontlines of war. But that makes the mission and the need to report on these events even more pressing. From Ukraine to the Middle East. And here at home, the dedicated journalists of Fox News are trying to inform America, even in the most perilous of circumstances. And that’s because these stories, they need eyes on the ground. They need a human perspective. They need us to bear witness.

Now, Trey Yingst has been on the ground in Israel, and from the very first moments after October 7th, he and the whole Fox News team, they put themselves on the line time and time again to report from the Middle East. Well, joining me live right now from southern Israel is Trey Yingst. Trey, how’s it going out there? I hope it’s all okay.

Yingst: Benjamin, we’re doing well. In the distance, we can hear the buzz of an Israeli drone as we speak. The Israelis are striking the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Hall: You know, you’ve been our eyes and ears out there, Trey. So, you know, we’re so grateful. Keep up the great work.

Yingst: Thank you, Benjamin. And look, I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that hearing your story is so incredibly inspiring. We’re proud to call you both a colleague and a friend. Right now in the Middle East. We are witnessing firsthand how these historic events are changing not just the region, but the entire world. At Fox News, we are committed to bringing you these stories, and we thank you for letting us do this very important work.

Hall: Yeah. Thank you, Trey. And we couldn’t do without Trey. We couldn’t do that without all our teams on the ground. Stay safe, brother. Stay safe.
