Brett Favre Hits Zelensky, Praises Trump ‘Standing Up For America’ in Fiery Oval Office Clash — Then Gets Roasted

NFL legend Brett Favre was met with scorn and outrage from countless X users this weekend after siding with President Donald Trump in a social media post after Trump’s Oval Office dust-up with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky left the White House Friday afternoon without a peace deal and without signing a minerals rights deal following a public scorning from Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Trump and Vance dressed down Ukraine’s president, with both categorizing him as disrespectful when he pushed back on statements they made about him as well as the overall state of Ukraine’s war with Russia.
Favre, like many Trump supporters, perceived Zelensky as having been the instigator of the tensions.
He shared a clip of the fracas online and commented, “This was a bit unreal to watch. A foreign leader speaking to a sitting U.S. President like this. Glad @realDonaldTrump & @JDVance are standing up for America.”

Favre received support from former college football coach Lou Holtz and controversial former MLB pitcher John Rocker:
Others viewed Trump as the aggressor and slammed Favre – many of them bringing up a scandal in which he was accused of accepting more than $1 million for speeches he never gave from funds that were intended to go to impoverished Mississippi families:

In 2020, Favre repaid $1.1 million to the state of Mississippi. He received cash from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program while raising funds for athletic upgrades at his alma mater, the University of Southern Mississippi.
The former Green Bay Packers quarterback denied any intentional wrongdoing and was not charged with a crime.
