Trump aide Corey Lewandowski couldn’t resist sharing news of the scandal engulfing journalist Olivia Nuzzi over her romantic relationship with Robert F Kennedy Jr. on X Thursday before swiftly deleting the post, perhaps realizing the bad press for Nuzzi was bad press for his Trump campaign colleague as well.
Lewandowski’s animosity toward Nuzzi goes back to 2018 when he accused the journalist of “breaking-and-entering” as well as stealing a photo album from his home when she entered the home without permission. At the time, Nuzzi took a photo of the interior for an article she was writing about former White House Communications Director Hope Hicks.
Nuzzi has denied taking anything from the Trump official but acknowledged entering the home, which also functions as the headquarters for Lewandowski’s lobbying firm, Turnbury Solutions.
On Thursday, Oliver Darcy of Status reported that the 31-year-old reporter had been placed on leave by New York Magazine after the publication became aware of her romantic relationship with Kennedy Jr., which began after she wrote a profile on him in November 2023. Nuzzi later released a statement denying that the relationship was “physical.”
At the time Kennedy Jr., who is married to actress Cheryl Hines, was running for president. He would join the Trump campaign transition team in August 2024, dropping out of the race to support the Republican bid with the promise of a place on a potential second Trump administration.
Late Thursday, Lewandowski was quick to jump on social media, sharing an article reporting the news about Nuzzi.

After a couple of hours, however, the post was deleted. It’s unclear whether this was ordered from within the Trump campaign or whether he made the realization himself that promoting a scandal involving campaign colleague Kennedy Jr. is not a wise idea.
