Trump Torched For Rolling Out Literal Red Carpet, Clapping For Putin After Landing In Alaska

Critics of U.S. President Donald Trump raged on social media Friday afternoon after he literally rolled out the red carpet and clapped warmly to greet accused war criminal Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Both leaders landed in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday afternoon in advance of talks about ending the war in Ukraine. According to the White House, the leaders will no longer have a one-on-one meeting. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins posted to X, “Instead, it will be a three-on-three, with Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio joining Trump. Not clear who will join Putin from the Russian side.”
However, Putin joined Trump without any other officials in his presidential SUV, known as “The Beast,” on their way to the meeting venue.
In 2023, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin, alleging the Russian leader was responsible for transferring Ukrainian children to Russia, an act identified as a war crime under international law. Many of Trump’s critics were unsparing in criticizing him for clapping for Putin:
