Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy laid into an ex-employee raising funds after posting an anti-Semitic sign in the company’s Nashville bar.

A man identified as Adnan Khan took to social media and claimed responsibility for a sign posted that read “fuck the Jews.” He claimed the sign was an “edgy joke” and he’s since lost his job, been suspended from school, and more. A GiveSendGo crowdfunding campaign by Khan has raised more than $10,000 as of this writing.

Portnoy called the ex-staffer a “coward” profiting off “hate.”

He wrote:

This dude is a flat liar. I talked to him on the phone with his buddy and they both owned up to it and cried about it. He then lawyered up after speaking with his family. His name got out because he’s a moron and uploaded “Fuck the Jews” sign to his instagram before I even knew about it. He already went viral without me. He spreads hate and uses the conflict in Middle East as his excuse. And did it in a bar with my companies name on it. Now he’s trying to profit from it. I’m sure he’ll make money because there is lots of anti semitism in the world. Regardless this is the least surprising thing ever. He is the definition of a coward. Zero accountability for his actions. I don’t care what religion you are or even how you feel about Middle East. This was an act of pure hate and this should disgust you.

Portnoy, who is Jewish, went after Khan in a number of other posts, calling him an “anti semitic coward and liar.”

In a separate X post, Portnoy said Khan “may actually end anti semitism by himself by being the biggest piece of shit to ever live.”

Portnoy previously announced he would send those responsible for the sign to Auschwitz as part of an educational tour, an offer he soon rescinded after speaking to Khan. Portnoy claimed Khan took “accountability,” but soon shifted his attitude on the situation.

“Both of them took accountability. Both of them were like, ‘Yeah, we did this, and we’re willing to go and try to learn.’ Well, then I see a now-deleted — I think it was an Instagram or Snapchat story — of one of the kids, Mo Khan, the one who posted the video,” he said. “And he has this long speech — we’ll put it in — claiming he was just being a ‘citizen journalist.’ He was just documenting his college life. He had nothing to do with the sign, didn’t buy it, had nothing to do with it, didn’t even know what it was. He’s just being a ‘citizen journalist’ — quite literally a 180 from when I talked to him.”
