Fox Anchors Go All In On Brutal NY Post Cover Attacking Zohran Mamdani’s Police ‘Flip-Flop’

Fox News anchors Sandra Smith and Trace Gallagher pulled no punches on Thursday as New York City Democratic Party mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani attended the funeral for NYPD Officer Didarul Islam, who was shot and killed days earlier in an attempted attack on the NFL’s headquarters in Manhattan.

Fox’s Alexis McAdams began the segment reporting from outside the funeral and said, “Another person who’s here besides Mayor Eric Adams is Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani. The self-proclaimed socialist met with Officer Islam’s family last night, we’re told. He’s in that room right now, but not everyone thinks this support is genuine.”

“We talked to the president of a big police union representing thousands of both current and former NYPD detectives who said this funeral shouldn’t be about politics,” she continued before playing a clip from Scott Munro, saying:

This is political. Don’t make it political. How many other police officers’ funerals were you at in the past? How many bills have you supported up in Albany for police officers? That’s the question. Why are you here today?

“And the family said just a short time ago, through their spokesperson who was speaking at the funeral, that Officer Islam, who’s now a detective, as I mentioned, would really be happy that his life hopefully saved other people’s when he was in that lobby,” McAdams said, adding:

They say, you know, he wanted to protect people, and that’s why he came here. And it’s interesting to see so many people have all these stories, right, and be in this tiny little area in the Bronx, but he had such a huge impact. We’ll see what happens today as these officials are here and, most importantly, his family. Yeah.

Smith then brought up Thursday’s New York Post cover, saying, “And Trace, I’m sure you woke up to see the New York Post cover today. We can pop it up on the screen for our viewers: ‘Blue Believe This Guy.’ And Trace, we covered this in real time yesterday here on America Reports when he delivered that news conference where we set it up.”

“He said—we played out the tweets, we played out the sound. Remember the tweet? ‘We don’t need an investigation. The NYPD is racist,’ he had said in the past, ‘anti-queer and a major threat to public safety.” And there he was touting the need for police in a major flip for public safety. It also reads, ‘Hypocrite Mamdani who wanted to defund police now defends cops after hero killed in the line of duty,’” added Smith.

“The interesting part about that is, yesterday he said he was frustrated. He made those comments because he was frustrated in the wake of the George Floyd death back in 2020. But you look back, it was only six months ago that he also called for taking away funding from police. Nothing to do with George Floyd. And so now he’s flip-flopping. And the question that the New York Post is asking is true: Do you believe it? Which is it?” Gallagher questioned.

“Yeah, not buying it,” concluded Smith.
