Fox & Friends Makes Pointed Appeal for Trump to Bring Nikki Haley Off the Bench in the Final Hours: The ‘One Thing’ He Needs

The Fox & Friends crew made a last-minute appeal, Monday, for former President Donald Trump to call in an assist from Nikki Haley in the final hours of the campaign.

During the show’s opening segment Monday, host Brian Kilmeade stressed the importance of Trump winning over those who backed his GOP primary rival — and suggested he would be well served to have her make an appearance with him at one of his final campaign events.

“One thing that the president the former president needs, and I think it’s Nikki Haley — Nikki Haley supporters,” Kilmeade said. “And they’ve been having trouble lining up schedules or whatever the teams are doing.”

Kilmeade referenced Haley’s op-ed Sunday in the Wall Street Journal — titled “Trump Isn’t Perfect but He’s the Better Choice.” The Fox News host argued the column shows Haley is not hedging and is fully behind the man who defeated her in the primary.

“If you read The Wall Street Journal — which, I’m sure it’s going to be cycled around — you’ll understand that she’s unequivocally for Trump,” Kilmeade said.

Kilmeade has spent the better part of the year calling for Trump to bury the hatchet with his vanquished foe. In an Oct. 18 interview, he questioned Trump about whether he planned to ask for her help winning over undecideds. Trump was non-committal and took several shots at her in the process.

Still, Kilmeade’s colleagues — Steve Doocy and Ainsley Earhardt concurred that it would be a wise move for Trump to have Haley join him.

“It can’t hurt to have her on the stage,” Earhardt said.

“Absolutely not,” Doocy added. “And we told you this last week. She told the Trump people, ‘I’m on standby.’

Haley, in an interview last week on Fox News, said she has not been asked to campaign for Trump.
