The growing rift between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk has some MAGA boosters finding unique ways to cope, with some even suggesting the feud is entirely fake.

Things exploded between Trump and Musk on Thursday after the president said during a White House meeting that he was “disappointed” in Musk over his criticism of the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Musk has said the massive budget will drive up the deficit, and he’s suggested he’ll target lawmakers who support it.

In an escalating war of words, Trump threatened to cancel Musk’s government contracts while Musk floated using his billions to form a third political party. He also accused Trump of hiding the “Epstein files” because his name appears on them. The infamous list includes names of people who traveled with the late Jeffrey Epstein to a private island where he was accused of assaulting numerous women, many of them underage.

“Is this some sort of perverse scheme to force the release of the Epstein files?” conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza asked on X. “How great it would be to have a horde of bad guys publicly exposed. Then Trump and Elon break out the champagne. Elon says, ‘Told you I could get Democrats to scream for that list.’ Laughter!”

In another message, D’Souza, who received a pardon from Trump, acknowledged that the Trump/Musk feud is an “unmitigated disaster” for the right.

Others also theorized the infighting was somehow not real and a ploy to get the Epstein files released, or more.

Jack Posobiec insisted most people’s reactions to the rift could be chalked up to them not understanding how “high agency males” communicate. According to him, it’s just “phallocentric” direct communication.

Commentator Joey Mannarino similarly argued that “you’re watching two people with balls the size of the moon debate an issue,” predicting Trump and Musk’s relationship will be patched up in a matter of days.

“People forget how men with testicles spar,” he wrote. “You’re watching two people with balls the size of the moon debate an issue. This is what masculinity look like.”

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk tried taking a more positive approach in a Thursday Fox News interview, where he expressed hope that Trump and Musk could “reconcile” for the sake of MAGA.

“Well, I talked to an insider today who said it’s irreparable,” Laura Ingraham informed him.

Other right-wing pundits threw cold water on Musk’s “Epstein files” accusation while some called Musk disrespectful for not keeping his disagreements “private.”

Influencer Graham Allen informed fellow MAGA personalities that he’s “watching.”

“I’m watching for every single ‘MAGA’ influencer who is silent right now!” he wrote. “You wait to see how the cards fall because you are too afraid to stand up! I DO NOT BELIEVE ELON!!!! Speak up you COWARDS!!”

Laura Loomer meanwhile tried playing peacekeeper by suggesting Musk “tweet something nice” about the president.

The Musk/Trump feud is bringing some people together. Matt Gaetz found himself agreeing with the controversial Ye, known these days more for his antisemitic rants than thoughts on politics.

“Fully with Ye on this,” Gaetz wrote in response to Ye tweeting, “Broooos please noooooo… We love you both so much.”
