‘Horrible!’ MSNBC Host Asks Jill Biden About GOP ‘Obsessing Over’ Hunter — ‘Showing Pictures Of Him During Vulnerable Moments’

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski asked First Lady Dr. Jill Biden for her reaction to MAGA Republicans “obsessing over” Hunter Biden, and referenced the explicit photos that GOP officials have circulated.

The Hunter Biden saga exploded back into the news Wednesday when Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance at a House Oversight Committee hearing on a resolution to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress. The chaos included Democrats shaming Republicans for displaying explicit photos of Hunter.

On Thursday morning’s edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Brzezinski aired her exclusive interview with the first lady, and drew disgust when she asked about the attacks on Hunter:

BRZEZINSKI: Does yet another one give you any pause, thinking of, like, the personal health and well-being for both of you, the division in this country, the cruelty of MAGA Republicans against your family? Does any part of you once in a while think, oh, maybe we bow out?

BIDEN: That’s why I want to go through yet another campaign, because I think, as Joe says, democracy, our freedoms are what’s on the line.

And so, Americans have a choice. You know, they can have strong, steady leadership, someone fighting for democracy, or they can choose chaos and division.

BRZEZINSKI: So, what do you see as your role as first lady now as opposed to a possible second term? Any changes that you would make? I know you have a pretty big policy platform now.

BIDEN: Well, when we came into office, I knew that I wanted to work on what I have always worked on — military families, cancer and education.

And now I have a new initiative, which is the Women’s Health Research Initiative, because women have been — women’s health has been underfunded always. And we need to have fairness in the amount of money that goes toward research and studying women’s diseases, because, you know, women are living so much longer with chronic diseases.

And that has to change. And I took that to Joe. And he said yes and signed the executive order.

BRZEZINSKI: Amazing.

BIDEN: So we’re on our way.

BRZEZINSKI: How have you been coping personally with the onslaught of accusations against your husband and your family, including and especially Hunter, the focus of the House Oversight Committee hearing, holding him in contempt, obsessing over him, showing pictures of him during vulnerable moments —

BIDEN: Horrible.

BRZEZINSKI: — in his battle with addiction on the floor of the House?

This would crush any family.

BIDEN: Mika, I think what they are doing to Hunter is cruel. And I’m really proud of how Hunter has rebuilt his life after addiction. You know, I love my son. And it’s had — it’s hurt my grandchildren. And that’s what I’m so concerned about, that it’s affecting their lives as well.
