Ice Cube Accuses Biden Campaign Co-Chair of Lying Over Discussions About Policy Demands: ‘Release the Zoom Meeting’

The rapper Ice Cube on Tuesday denied an assertion by Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA) that he was asked to refrain from making demands before the election.
“Instead of going back and forth congressman, please release the Zoom meeting so the world can see what was said by all,” the rapper — born O’Shea Jackson — wrote in a message on Twitter. In it, he linked to a story quoting a denial from Richmond.

Richmond is a co-chair on Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s campaign. Jackson has been locked in a dispute with critics this month after President Donald Trump’s campaign said it would adopt aspects of Jackson’s Contract With Black America, or CWBA.
“Facts: I put out the CWBA,” Jackson wrote in an Oct. 14 message on Twitter. “Both parties contacted me. Dems said we’ll address the CWBA after the election. Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA.”

Richmond took aim at Jackson in a Monday interview SiriusXM’s Joe Madison Show with the criticism that led to Jackson’s retort. “I like the fact that Ice Cube is getting engaged in policy,” Richmond said. “I think that is a good thing. However, once you embark on getting into it, one, you have to be truthful, but two, you have an obligation, I think, to see it through and to be thorough with it. Our plan is very thorough. I won’t say he has a skeleton plan, but he has an outline of things, he has an outline of things that should be done. It’s not as comprehensive as our plan.
“And so that’s what we told him,” Richmond added. “And the offer to stay engaged was not, ‘We’ll talk to you after the election.’ It went like this: ‘Here’s my cell number. Anything else you want to talk about on this plan or anything you think, you know, we need to talk about further, just pick up the phone and call.”
