Jeffries Drops Scathing Rant on ‘Sick’ Karoline Leavitt, ‘Racist’ GOP Leaders’ Chat: ‘They’re Ripping the Sheets Off’
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) pulled no punches on Friday in blasting the Republican Party’s recent headline-grabbing controversies, as well as Trump White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Jeffries was asked about the current political climate while taking several questions from reporters on Capitol Hill.
He told them it’s “a matter of deep concern. We’ve already seen a rise in political violence and hatred in America, and then you’ve got swastikas apparently appearing in the offices of Republican members of Congress. You’ve got young Republicans engaging in the most anti-Semitic and racist speech possible.”
“This is apparently who many of these people are. They are ripping the sheets off in plain view of the American people. Their words, their actions, revealing themselves in so many different ways,” continued the New York Democrat, adding:
And then you’ve got Karoline Leavitt, who’s sick, she’s out of control, and I’m not sure whether she’s just demented, ignorant, a stone-cold liar, or all of the above. But the notion that an official White House spokesperson would say that the Democratic Party consists of terrorists, violent criminals, and undocumented immigrants — this makes no sense.
This is what the American people are getting from the Trump administration in the middle of a shutdown. So their actions continue to speak for themselves, which is why they’re on the wrong side of public sentiment.
Jeffries referred to Leavitt’s shock claims on Fox News the day before, in which she said, “The Democrat Party’s main constituency are made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals. That is who the Democrat Party is catering to.” Leavitt was reacting to Democratic Party nominee for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani’s repeated refusal to call for Hamas to disarm during a Fox News interview earlier in the week. Mamdani changed his tune during Thursday night’s debate, saying Hamas should indeed disarm.
