Joe Rogan Defends Hegseth Address to Generals: ‘No More Identity Politics and B*llshit’
Joe Rogan heartily approved of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s speech to top commanders and his proposed changes to the U.S. military, saying it was nice there would be “no more identify politics and b*llshit” infecting the armed forces.
Rogan backed Hegseth’s military revamp on the Tuesday episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, featuring the country band The Red Clay Strays.
The podcast star said Hegseth’s plan for a lean, mean, and assertive military was a welcome change after President Joe Biden’s administration, which he said was more concerned with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs than having troops in top form.
“You saw what the f*ck was going on over the last four years,” Rogan said. “You got guys in dresses talking about how it’s really important to have inclusiveness. It’s the most important thing about the military — is inclusivity.”
He added: “We had crazy people that were in charge of very important positions.”
Rogan was referring to Sam Brinton, the former Energy Department official who was the first “openly genderfluid person” to serve in the U.S. government. Brinton was fired in 2022 after being caught stealing luggage multiple times on surveillance footage and images.
“[Brinton] was stealing women’s clothes. That guy was in charge of like, f*ckin’ nuclear waste, and he’s going around stealing people’s underwear. With lipstick and a bald head,” Rogan said, while cracking up.
His comments came just hours after Hegseth told hundreds of generals, during a speech at Quantico, that the military was done with “woke garbage.”
Hegseth outlined his plan for the U.S. military moving forward, where combat troops would return to meeting the “highest male standard only.” He also said he was implementing a new physical fitness plan for troops and generals, saying it was “tiring” to see “fat” generals walking around.
“It’s a bad look,” Hegseth said about rotund generals. “It is bad, and it’s not who we are.”
