Mark Levin Torches ‘Colonel-Jackass’ Douglas Macgregor, Arguing He Belongs in Biden Admin — But He Was Already Hired by Trump and Fired by Biden
Fox News’ Mark Levin berated retired Col. Douglas Macgregor, a former Trump administration official, over his anti-Israel posture on Sunday, implausibly arguing that he qualified for a job in Joe Biden’s State Department even though Biden removed him from a post he was appointed to by Donald Trump in 2021.
Levin was responding to a clip in which Macgregor suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was attempting to escalate the war in the Middle East as a political tactic by goading Iran into attacking Israel. He also asserted that most of the American “political class” is “bought and paid for by the Israeli lobby.”
“This colonel-jackass has been a clown for years. So, Netanyahu wants to escalate to survive? I see. And I thought Iran was a terrorist state building nukes and threatening America. Where do these pathetic, incoherent assh*les come from?” asked Levin rhetorically in response to Macgregor. “Iran has overthrown Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen. It is allied with Communist China, Communist North Korea, and fascist Russia. It is allied with the Mother Brotherhood, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the PLO. And this idiot says Netanyahu wants to expand the war for politics. This colonel qualifies for a top job in the Biden State Department or IRGC.”

The only problem with this formulation is that Macgregor is actually a close ally of Trump’s, not Biden. In July 2020, Trump nominated him to be the U.S. ambassador to Germany, a position the Senate did not confirm him to due to his controversial views on a variety of subjects.
He was later named a senior advisor to Trump’s acting secretary of defense and to the advisory board at West Point by the former president. Macgregor was stripped of his seat on the latter by Biden in September 2021.
Macgregor has persistently advanced Russian propaganda as it carries out expansionist wars in Eastern Europe and accused Israel of committing “war crimes” in an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show last October.
In 2019, Macgregor submitted that John Bolton and Mike Pompeo, both of whom served in the Trump administration, became “very, very rich” thanks to the Israel lobby.
