‘More Like WWE Every Year’: Steve Bannon Heckles MSNBC Contributor Tim Miller At Pro-Trump Event
Steve Bannon and Tim Miller sparred at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest over the weekend as the pro-Trump student group gathered in Phoenix, Arizona for its annual conference.
Bannon, a former Trump White House advisor and far-right media figure, heckled Miller while broadcasting from outside the convention hall during the event.
“Hang on. Hang on. Tim, Tim spends a lot of time on Joy-Ann Reid and Chris Hayes, but really, he’s a regular on our favorite show on MSNBC: Morning Mika. Can we give it up for Morning Mika?” Bannon began, roasting MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
Bannon, who is known for his love of cable news, continued, “You may not know this about Tim. But Tim, when I was running Breitbart, Tim and I used to work a lot together. You know why? Tim, before he went to the dark side, was in the quasi-dark side. He was the comms director of the RNC.”
“Controlled opposition,” jested one of Bannon’s co-hosts.
“Give it up for Tim Miller,” Bannon added.
Miller, a writer at the Bulwark, then said into a microphone, “Oh, and give it up for legitimate President Joe Biden. The legitimate president of the United States.”
Bannon and the crowd then loudly booed Miller, who is a regular MSNBC analyst.
“You see what I love about this? It gets more like WWE every year,” Bannon concluded, “Let’s give it up for Tim Miller.”
Miller later shared a clip of the exchange online, writing, “My attempt to recognize our legitimate president Joe Biden and start a USA chant did not go over well.”
Sarah Longwell, the publisher of the Bulwark replied, joking, “Bannon seems to like you. You should find this unsettling.”
“It is slightly but I think that’s mostly an issue for Bannon and his shrink,” Miller joked.
