‘Shameful!’ Trump Aide Turned Fox Host Attacks CNN’s Jake Tapper For Dumping Trump Speech

Fox News host and ex-Trump official Kayleigh McEnany lashed out at CNN’s Jake Tapper for dumping former President Donald Trump’s victory speech just as he began ranting about an immigrant “invasion.”

Tapper co-anchored CNN’s Iowa Caucuses coverage Monday night and cut off Trump’s speech about ten minutes in — about the same amount of time they stuck with Nikki Haley’s speech — while MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow refused to air any of it live.

On Tuesday night’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Hannity, host Sean Hannity went off on both Tapper and Maddow and took particular aim at Tapper’s journalistic credentials — which are widely respected. He referred to Mr. Tapper as “Fake Jake” on numerous occasions.

Later in the show, McEnany — who was Trump’s White House press secretary — went off on Tapper for “censoring this man,” calling Tapper “shameful” and a “so-called journalist”:

KAYLEIGH MCENANY: I am worried that the media has a plan, and we saw it play out last night to just censor this man, Jake Tapper. What a shameful moment from a so-called journalist, as you exposed him! He is not! To cut off Donald Trump and say, “You can hear him under my voice saying anti-immigrant things.”.

He was not! Let the people hear the truth. The leader of the Republican Party.

SEAN HANNITY: That’s journalism! That, that to him is a fact. He thinks he’s a journalist. You know what he is. He’s a talk show host. I’m a talk show host. I buy it, I practice journalism, that’s part of my job. I do investigative reporting. I give opinion. We talk about culture and sports. I’m like an entire newspaper, but they say they’re journalists. That’s the distinction.

While Tapper spoke, Trump was doing his familiar riff on an immigrant “invasion” comprised of criminals and terrorists and people from “insane asylums.”
