The View Tries to Unpack Coldplay Kiss Cam Saga: ‘Been Watching It Like It Was Porn’

The hosts of The View tried their best to unpack the Coldplay kiss cam saga Monday, with one of the panelists admitting she has repeatedly watched the viral video “like it was porn.”

The show opened with a discussion of the scandal, as each of the panelists admitted they were enamored with the story, which has spread like wildfire since the video of the couple was shot at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on Wednesday night and posted to TikTok.

In it, the couple — now identified as Andy Byron, the married CEO of tech company Astronomer, and the company’s HR chief, Kristin Cabot — are seen canoodling and trying in vain to duck out of frame as they realize the camera is fixed on them.

“All right, come on!” Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said. “You’re OK! Uh-oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy. We’re not quite sure.”

“It’s been seen 77 million times,” View panelist Sunny Hostin said in disbelief. “77 million times.”

“And I’m 7 million of those,” added Ana Navarro, who later admitted, “I have been watching it like it was porn — over and over and over again.”

Sara Haines wagged her finger at Byron and Cabot for engaging in an affair because “a CEO of a company should never be dating the head of HR.”

“These are the people that are supposed to implement company policy,” she said to applause. “There’s a power dynamic; there is a question of like-”

“Sometimes you can’t help who you want to get with,” Whoopi Goldberg interrupted. “She’s not the head of HR in the bed.”

The situation has become a pop culture phenomenon as social media users have not let up in mocking the video, and prompted Martin to start warning Coldplay concertgoers they might appear on camera at their shows.

Byron resigned on Saturday after the company announced an investigation into the matter.
