Tim Walz Chastises Democrats For Public Infighting While Republicans Kowtow To ‘The Felon In The White House’

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) chastised fellow Democrats Monday at the DNC Summer Meeting in Minneapolis, saying they don’t have the “luxury” of publicly infighting while President Donald Trump continues to wreak havoc on the country.

Waltz began on a positive note, saying, “We are strong ’cause we challenge each other. We are strong ’cause we’re held accountable. We’re strong because we believe there’s a place for everyone here.”

He then drew laughs from the crowd when he framed the Republicans as cult members who do whatever Trump says.

“Think of how easy it would be to be a damn Republican,” Walz said. “‘Oh, what should I wear today? This stupid frickin’ red hat. What should I say today? I don’t know, just make sure it’s cruel. Who do we listen to? That guy — Oh, the felon in the White House? — Yeah, listen to him and that will be fine.'”

“Now he’s talking about burning flags…’cause he knows there’s a whole lot of flags with his picture that are going to get burned. There’s a whole lot of that kind of crap that people are sick of.

“We can have our internal decision-making, our internal debates,” Walz continued. “But I refuse to believe — we do not have the luxury to fight against ourselves while that thing sits in the White House.”

On Sunday, DNC Chair Ken Martin told The Associated Press that the party is on a mission to fix their brand with the American people.

“I think the greatest divide right now in our party, frankly, is not ideological,” Martin said. “The greatest divide is those people who are standing up and fighting and those who are sitting on the sidelines. We’re using every single lever of power we have to take the fight to fight Donald Trump.”

But there remains “deep frustration that the Democratic Party under Martin’s leadership is not doing enough to stop the Republican president — no matter how tough his rhetoric may be,” according to ABC News.
