Officials in President Donald Trump’s administration are meeting this week to discuss the best strategy for dealing with backlash over the Jeffrey Epstein case, and one of the ideas being considered is reportedly a Joe Rogan interview.
Vice President JD Vance, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will meet on Wednesday at Vance’s residence, according to a new report from CNN citing three people familiar with the situation.
Among the topics to be discussed is whether transcripts from Blanche’s recent sit-downs with Ghislaine Maxwell should be released to the public. Blanche met with Maxwell multiple times, and her lawyer claimed she gave information on numerous people. She has since been moved to a minimum security Texas prison.
Maxwell was a longtime associate and one-time girlfriend of Epstein. She is currently serving 20 years for sex trafficking. The Department of Justice said Maxwell conspired for years to abuse minors with Epstein.
Also up for discussion at the strategy meeting is a possible sit-down interview between Blanche and Rogan, according to the report.
According to CNN:
There have also been internal discussions about Blanche holding a press conference or doing a high-profile interview, possibly with popular podcaster Joe Rogan, according to three people familiar with the discussions, though those conversations are preliminary.
Rogan endorsed Trump in the 2024 presidential election, but he’s been vocally critical of the president on multiple fronts, including Epstein. He is one of many MAGA-friendly voices calling for the release of more Epstein documents following the release of a Department of Justice/FBI memo denying the existence of any list of high profile associates who took part in Epstein’s abuse over the years. Trump himself has called such a list a “hoax” and lashed out at his own supporters for pushing so hard on Epstein.
Rogan previously interviewed Patel on his podcast, but he made it clear after the appearance that he was not satisfied with Patel’s answers on Epstein. Rogan criticized Patel, suggesting there was no video footage of abuse from Epstein’s home and private island.
“People were like, why didn’t you push back more? My thought was like, I’m just gonna put this out there and let the internet do its work because there’s nothing I could — the guy’s saying there’s no tapes, there’s no video. That doesn’t make any sense. Everyone knows it doesn’t any sense,” he said of the interview.
