Trump Said He Threatened to ‘Bomb the Sh*t Out of Moscow’ If Putin Ever Invaded Ukraine, Disturbing Audio Reveals
President Donald Trump told a gathering of private donors he once warned Russian strongman Vladimir Putin he would ‘bomb the shit out of Moscow” if he ever invaded Ukraine, shocking audio has revealed.
The remarks were recorded during a private meeting Trump had with wealthy donors in 2024, while he was campaigning for the White House.
“With Putin I said, ‘If you go into Ukraine, I’m going to bomb the shit out of Moscow. I’m telling you I have no choice,'” Trump is heard saying in the audio, which was revealed for the first time on CNN’s The Source With Kaitlin Collins Tuesday night. “And then he goes, like, ‘I don’t believe you.’ But he believed me 10 percent.”
And Putin wasn’t alone, Trump later claimed in the audio that he made a similar threat to China’s president, Xi Jinping:
Then I’m with President Xi of China. I said the same thing to them. I said, you know, “If you go into Taiwan, I’m gonna bomb the shit out of Beijing.” He thought I was crazy. He said, “Beijing? You’re gonna bomb?” I said, “I have no choice. I gotta bomb you. We’re gonna bomb Bei-.” And he didn’t believe me either. He said 10 percent. And 10 percent is all you need. In fact, 5 percent would have been OK too.
The audio was later obtained by journalists Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf — the authors of 2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America, a new book out this week.
Trump has repeatedly blamed former President Joe Biden for the war in Ukraine, saying it never would have happened if he were president. He also claimed he would end the conflict “in 24 hours” once he was elected.
