Trump Singles Out ‘Nasty Guy’ Aussie Reporter During Presser With PM

It was a low blow straight down under!

An Australian reporter was caught off guard Monday as President Donald Trump called him a “nasty guy” while he tried to bark out a question during a Q&A session with Aussie Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Michael Koziol, the North American correspondent for the Sydney Morning Herald, was among assembled reporters at the White House when the president called him out.

“Who are you with?” Trump demanded of Koziol.

“The Sydney Morning Herald,” Koziol replied.

“Nasty guy… Go ahead,” Trump said as Koziol briefly appeared stunned.

It’s unclear what Koziol did to elicit the response from Trump.

Read the conversation here:

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Where do you come from?

MICHAEL KOZIOL: I’m from Australia.

TRUMP: Who are you with?

KOZIOL: The Sydney Morning Herald.

TRUMP: Nasty guy. Go ahead.

KOZIOL: Sorry, I was just trying to ask [inaudible]

TRUMP: All right, go ahead.

MICHAEL KOZIOL: In your first term you worked with two Australian prime ministers, Scott Morrison and Malcolm Turnbull. They were from the same side of politics as you. Mr. Albanese, is a different side. Can you tell us a bit more about what it’s like to work with Mr. Albanese compared to those two?

TRUMP: Well, I got along. I mean, that wouldn’t not be fair. Because, you know, the man on my right has a big advantage. You know that, right? But I think that he’s doing a really good job. And we have had a very good relationship. I don’t want to compare one or the other. But I will tell you, they really have a great prime minister. Was that a good statement?

ANTHONY ALBANESE: I’ll use it in my ads in ’28.
