‘What Do You Think MAGA Smells Like?’ CNN Anchors Roast Trump Over Fragrance Drop
CNN anchors roasted President Donald Trump for promoting his “Victory 4547” fragrance on his social media account, calling it “weird,” “not normal,” and asking derisive rhetorical questions about the scent.
The president dropped a promo for the limited edition scent Monday, writing in a Truth Social post “Trump Fragrances are here. They’re called ‘Victory 45-47’ because they’re all about Winning, Strength, and Success — For men and women. Get yourself a bottle, and don’t forget to get one for your loved ones too. Enjoy, have fun, and keep winning!”
The move was met with mockery from several CNN anchors. On Monday night’s edition of CNN NewsNight, anchor Abby Phillip asked “What do you think MAGA smells like?” as she wrapped up the hour, while Tuesday’s edition of CNN News Central saw a clearly amused John Berman ask a similar “weird” question and co-anchor Kate Bolduan said such promotion is “not normal”:
PHILLIP: What do you think MAGA smells like? President Trump wants you to find out by spending nearly $250 for a bottle. Yes. You can add fragrances to the list of products the president of the United States is hawking along with his Bibles and sneakers. The bottles are called Victory 45-47 that resemble an Oscar statue, and the site describes the women’s perfume as, quote, “subtly feminine and sophisticated, capturing confidence, beauty, and unstoppable determination.”
The cologne is described as rich, masculine, and for men who lead with strength and confidence. Of course, it is worth noting that no fragrance ingredients are listed. What is listed, however, is the cost, $249 for 3.3 ounces.
Just for some context, the same size for the classic Chanel Number 5, which has been in existence for more than a century, is considerably cheaper at a $176.

KATE BOLDUAN: President Trump is now adding fragrances to the list of products that he is selling. The price, $249 for a 3.3 ounce bottle. The two new fragrances are called Victory 4547.
They are being marketed, as you can see, a bottle for women and a bottle for men, and the branding emphasizes “confidence and strength.”.
A reminder, though, it has become quite normal. It is not normal for… Presidents to profit off their presidencies, though these are being sold, they say, as collectibles.
