YIKES! Fox Anchor Falls for Fake Trump Rant on ‘No Kings’ Protests — Reads Phony Post Live on Air
Fox Business Network anchor Maria Bartiromo fell for a fake rant about anti-Trump “No Kings” protests, reading aloud a spoofed social media post from President Donald Trump as if it were real.
In addition to Trump’s military parade Saturday to ostensibly celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Trump’s 79th birthday was also marked with thousands of anti-Trump “No Kings” protests over the weekend.
Amid those protests, a screenshot of a social media post went viral. The post read “A HUGE THANK YOU” to “No Kings” protestors across the country. I was very concerned that a king was trying to take my place,” the post continues, “but thanks to your tireless efforts, I AM STILL YOUR PRESIDENT! Great job all!!!”
It was shared by Donald Trump Jr., who confirmed it was a fake but said he wished it were real.
On Monday morning’s edition of Fox Business Network’s Mornings With Maria, the anchor interviewed Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) and as they discussed the parade and the protests, Bartiromo said she “loved” the president’s response — which was fake:
REP. DAN CRENSHAW: There was a ton of people there. That was another left-wing lie.
MARIA BARTIROMO: Yeah.
REP. DAN CRENSHAW: They were focused on bleachers that were right next to where we were sitting–
MARIA BARTIROMO: I love the way the president handled it because, congressman, he put out a tweet he writes “A huge thank you to all the No Kings protesters yesterday. I was very concerned that a King was trying to take my place but thanks to your tireless efforts I am still your president! Great job all!”.
President had fun with that.
REP. DAN CRENSHAW: (LAUGHS).
MARIA BARTIROMO: Congressman it’s a pleasure to see you and we so appreciate your time this morning. Thank you sir.
REP. DAN CRENSHAW: Thank you.
MARIA BARTIROMO: All right, Dan Crenshaw joining us.
