‘You Do Not Have Specific Evidence!’ NBC Reporter Batters Comer Over Biden Car Loan In Marathon Grilling

NBC News host Ryan Nobles absolutely battered Rep. James Comer (R-KY) over a car loan that Hunter Biden repaid to President Joe Biden, refusing to move on as Comer denied the payments were for a loan.

This Monday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer hyped a supposed bombshell smoking gun that turned out to be Hunter Biden repaying a car loan to his father, President Biden.

Comer was a guest on Tuesday’s edition of the streaming-only Meet the Press NOW, during which Nobles spent almost half of the 12-minute interview badgering Comer over those loan payments — which Comer continued to insist were not loan repayments:

RYAN NOBLES: All right. Well, let’s talk about the evidence that you’ve collected, and let’s try and pinpoint exactly how you believe that that leads to articles of impeachment. And we can’t possibly address every claim. So we’re going to try and focus on one if we can. And that is the money that you’ve uncovered that has come from Hunter Biden, the president’s son, and has made it to Joe Biden himself.

Now, in each one of these instances, there is a paper trail that demonstrates that these were interest-free loans from the president to his son. So explain to me how an interest-free loan, which one could argue Joe Biden actually lost money on, an example of him being benefited from influence peddling?

REP. JAMES COMER: Well, you say there’s evidence proving it’s a loan. I’ve never seen evidence that proves that the loan. I’m from a banking background. If if I loan you $250,000 and then you pay me back $250,000, then I should have a check to you for $250,000. Is that right?

RYAN NOBLES: But there is, sir, you have bank records.

REP. JAMES COMER: (interrupting) There’s not — there’s not — we don’t –.

RYAN NOBLES: You have bank records that show that the money came from one account into the other.

REP. JAMES COMER: That’s not true. You’re miss– that. I’m sorry, but that is not true. You’re not providing factual information. You’re providing talking points from the White House and the Biden legal team.

Look, it’s very easy to prove a loan. What they have shown the press is is not proof of a loan. Remember, we released an email last year from a bank examiner that when they saw that $5 million wire from China into what they called a dormant account of Hunter Biden’s. They said it was an investment company with no investments and they needed to know what that $5 million wire was before they filed a suspicious activity report. They didn’t want to file a report against the son of the vice president of the United States. They said, what is this, $5 million? And he said, it’s a loan. Right. Remember, that’s the theme that they’ve been saying. They said, okay, well, we need the loan documentation for the bank examiner. And they didn’t have it.

RYAN NOBLES: You’re talking about a completely separate issue here. Let’s get back to this issue of the loan payments.

REP. JAMES COMER: It’s all the same. They’ve been playing the loan card but–.

RYAN NOBLES: It’s not all the same, but it’s not the same. And I want to give you the opportunity to make this case. But we can’t go to seven different issues when we’re talking about this one specific issue.

REP. JAMES COMER: Provide evidence of the loan.

RYAN NOBLES: There were two.

REP. JAMES COMER: Provided evidence of where he took the money in. And you have no evidence, flash it on the screen?

RYAN NOBLES: Yes, sir. So there were the two checks, the $40,000 check and the $200,000 check that came from the president’s son and into the president’s bank account. There’s also subsequent bank records which were provided through the committee that demonstrate that there were also subsequent pieces–.

REP. JAMES COMER: That is not– that is not true–

RYAN NOBLES: information that went from the president to the president’s son. So that you’re saying that that information has been made up, then. Where did that information come from? That came from a friend.

REP. JAMES COMER: I don’t know, we haven’t seen that information–.

RYAN NOBLES: That is committee information that is collected from the bank records that your committee has obtained!

REP. JAMES COMER: Just show the check. If Joe Biden wrote–

RYAN NOBLES: Are you telling me that you have. Do you have a blank? Do you have a a canceled check for every wire transfer that’s ever come in to your account?

REP. JAMES COMER: We have a with that wire that we– Yes!

RYAN NOBLES: You personally have a–.

REP. JAMES COMER: I can show you! Yes!

RYAN NOBLES: And that’s what has been shown is a, there is bank records that demonstrate.

REP. JAMES COMER: You’re showin’ a wire– they’re sayin’–

RYAN NOBLES: An exact same amount of money came–

REP. JAMES COMER: They’re saying something. No, it’s not. I mean, look.

RYAN NOBLES: Are you saying you’re saying are you saying those bank records do not exist that show the money leaving the president’s account and going into his son’s?

REP. JAMES COMER: There’s money they were money laundering. You see wires going all over the–

RYAN NOBLES: Answer this specific question. Is there a bank record that demonstrates the exact amount of money that came from the president’s account into his son’s account that matches the checks that then went back to him? Does that exist? Yes or no?

REP. JAMES COMER: There’s money coming from–. No! No! There’s money coming a law firm!

RYAN NOBLES: Doesn’t exist? that doesn’t exist, sir?

REP. JAMES COMER: It does not exist. It’s coming from a law firm. Who? Who put the money in the law firm? How do you know the money came from Joe Biden? It could have come from one of Hunter’s shell companies.

RYAN NOBLES: Okay.

REP. JAMES COMER: You have no idea. So you’ve reported that there’s evidence–

RYAN NOBLES: Okay. So you are saying that that money exists, that that transfer does exist–.

REP. JAMES COMER: NO! NO! You don’t know what that transfer is!

RYAN NOBLES: There in the bank records that you and your committee–

REP. JAMES COMER: For is how you know.

RYAN NOBLES: Sir, you also you know, you are also suggesting, you’re making the same argument when you say any dime that comes from the president to from this from the son of the president to the president, you’ve suggested any dime that comes to him comes from some Chinese company or a Russian company. You do not have specific evidence of where that money is made its way from each stage of this–.

REP. JAMES COMER: Yes, we do! We have their bank records.

RYAN NOBLES: It’s the same argument you’re making to me with these bank records!

When they finally did move on, Nobles continued to press Comer about his investigations until the congressman lashed out by calling Nobles “financially illiterate.”
