‘You Have Earned This’: Pete Buttigieg Appears on Barstool Podcast to Present Jersey Jerry With ‘Lib of the Year’ Award

Former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg made a hilarious cameo on Barstool’s Pardon My Take podcast Friday to present social media personality Jersey Jerry with ‘Lib of the Year’.“We have a very, very, very special guest presenter,” said Pardon My Take co-host Dan Katz during the show’s annual ‘Takie Awards’ as Buttigieg appeared on screen.

“You have earned this, from your evolving take on immigration to being open to the idea that vaccines actually work,” quipped Buttigieg, referring to the Jerry After Dark star’s advertising meeting with who he thought was a Pfizer executive — but who actually was a fake employee set up by Pardon My Take.

“Your commitment, your passion to being a lib, right alongside your fidelity to Mitch Trubisky, or your commitment to losing wacky sports bets over and over again, really capture the spirit of being lib of the year,” Buttigieg added.

The former Secretary of Transportation is no stranger to new media cameos, appearing on Andrew Schulz‘s Flagrant podcast in April.

As for Jersey Jerry’s switch in stance on immigration, he admitted on Barstool’s The Yak in June that his ideas had “totally flipped”.

“For years, I thought if you’re not here legally, you shouldn’t be here at all. I think the people who are working, the people who are paying taxes, those people should be able to stay.”

Fellow nominees for ‘Lib of the Year’ included Barstool’s Jack Mac, former NFL players Kyle Long and Chris Long, and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
