Beck: If RT Anchor Can Call Out Propaganda, Why Can’t Brian Williams Do Same on NBC?
Glenn Beck was very encouraged by a Russia Today anchor railing against network propaganda and resigning, but on Thursday he had a very simple question: why doesn’t someone from a mainstream news outlet, like, say, NBC speak out against the pro-Obama propaganda and deceptive editing that’s gone on? Beck singled out Brian Williams in particular, because he’s the “face of NBC News,” and believed that Williams needs to apologize to viewers for pushing biased news coverage not just on NBC, but on MSNBC as well.
And it’s not just Williams, because Beck called on a single mainstream journalist anywhere to say, “Lookit, I’m sorry, Mr. President, but you are spying on our fellow journalists, you’re spying on their parents, you have jailed some of us. We are headed in a wrong direction.”
Beck pointed out that the U.S. ranks much lower than it should on the scale of international press freedom, and said one great way to start recovering from that is by journalists just doing a public mea culpa for protecting the president:
“When’s Brian Williams gonna stand up? When that starts to happen, when we start to say, ‘You know what? I voted for this guy, and I still, I agree… with what he’s trying to do! But not this way!'”
