Bill Kristol: ‘Main Source of Fake News’ Recently Has Been Trump
During a segment on Facebook cracking down on further political influence campaigns, Bill Kristol made a point of saying President Donald Trump is the king of fake news.
He told Jake Tapper the Facebook issue is a problem, “but to be totally honest, the main source of fake news, of bad information, in this last 18 months has not been Russia and it hasn’t been Facebook, it’s been the President of the United States.”
He argued that it’s easier to question online fake news and to discern some of the “Russian agitation,” but “when the President of the United States, over and over and over, shows no regard for the truth, repeats falsehoods, denigrates people, etc., that has an impact.”
“We shouldn’t forget the main purveyor of falsehood is the President,” Kristol concluded.
