Bill Maher Will Keep GOP and Dem Conventions ‘Real’ With Four Live Specials

maherIf you love presidential nominating convention coverage but think it’s disappointingly lacking in profanity, then you’re in luck. Real Time with Bill Maher host Bill Maher will be hosting live coverage of both the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this summer with all the Real Time goodies you won’t ever see on C-Span. From HBO’s press release:

LOS ANGELES, June 15, 2016 – REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER intensifies its election coverage next month with special shows during the Republican and Democratic conventions. Four live half-hour editions of the show will be presented from Los Angeles, reporting on the Republican convention on Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21, and the Democratic convention on Wednesday, July 27 and Thursday, July 28 at 11:00 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT) each night. Maher will be giving a rapid response to that evening’s events, and each show will also feature three in-studio panel guests. REAL TIME’s regularly scheduled programming will continue to air on Friday of both weeks at 10:00 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT). Additional information to be announced as it is confirmed.

Here’s hoping the “additional information” includes some sort of coverage from the actual locations of these conventions. Who doesn’t want to see what Republicans are doing in Cleveland at 11 pm on a Wednesday?
