Bill O’Reilly Blows His Top Over John Bolton Remarks About Trump-Putin Summit: ‘Is He a Traitor? Maybe!’
Bill O’Reilly laid into John Bolton over his criticism of President Donald Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, even suggesting at one point that Bolton could be a “traitor.”
O’Reilly joined Leland Vittert on NewsNation on Monday evening, where he held nothing back in his takedown of Bolton, a former United Nations ambassador who also once served as Trump’s national security adviser.
Bolton called Trump’s planned meeting with Putin in Alaska a “great victory” for Russia, and suggested Trump will favor Russia over Ukraine in peace negotiations.
O’Reilly pushed back in his interview with Vittert, arguing Bolton simply wants to see the war rage on.
The former Fox News host said:
The man has nothing, not one thing. If it were up to him, this will continue ad infinitum, with women and children getting slaughtered. He has no solution. Let me point out that the Taliban did come, and for 18 months, there was not one American killed in Afghanistan. You get that, ambassador? Do you get that? He’s all rhetoric, he’s all hat, no cattle, as they say in Texas, and he hates Trump’s guts. He hates him. He doesn’t want them to succeed. He’d rather have death and destruction in Ukraine than for Donald Trump to succeed. Is he a traitor? Maybe.
“Oh, come on,” Vittert said at the “traitor” comment.
“Don’t ‘come on’ me!” O’Reilly shot back.
“Can’t we have a reasonable disagreement about how to deal with Putin?” Vittert asked.
“There’s no disagreement! He has nothing! There’s no two sides. All he does is, ‘Trump’s an idiot,’ ‘Trump’s wrong.’ He doesn’t have a solution,” O’Reilly said.
Vittert noted that Bolton was also critical of former President Joe Biden’s foreign policy while O’Reilly argued Bolton’s “worldview” boils down to war upon war until nuclear destruction.
“This guy is irresponsible. He’s subverting something that might be successful because he hates Trump,” he said.
O’Reilly knocked Bolton for not putting forth solutions to end the three-year-long war. His own suggestion was bleeding Russia economically through sanctions.
“All Bolton does is wanna corrode the process,” O’Reilly said. “It’s just — it makes me so angry, because people are dying. This is not a game!”
