‘Cheers to Ya’: Jon Stewart Delivers Moving Tribute to Letterman

Jon Stewart ended tonight’s Daily Show with a moving sendoff to David Letterman, thanking him for the decades of laughs.

With The Daily Show off next week, during Letterman’s big sendoff, this was the perfect opportunity for Stewart to say what a “remarkable honor it has been for me to have gone on his show.”

He recalled the amazing experience of watching such a great late night “innovator” for decades, but Stewart ended up getting a little emotional when he recalled how Letterman appeared on the final episode of Stewart’s short-lived The Jon Stewart Show.

Stewart thanked him for the great advice Letterman gave him about failure and said, “Cheers to ya.”
