Chris Wallace: This Week’s Debate Was ‘Embarrassment for the Republican Party’

Fox News Sunday moderator Chris Wallace appeared with Bill O’Reilly tonight to discuss last night’s Republican debate. And boy, was he blunt, telling O’Reilly right away, “I thought it was an embarrassment for the Republican party.”

He said there was a lot of fighting between candidates but “precious little vision” and discussion of the issues. Wallace told O’Reilly, “If you saw someone acting presidentially on that stage, you got better eyesight than I do.”

O’Reilly argued that John Kasich was “a voice of reason” because he didn’t get into the mud-slinging.

He also maintained that emotion, not policy, is the driving force behind the Republican party’s race for president right now.
